3 Years in 3 Paragraphs

Until a week or so ago it had been nearly three years since my last post.  I'd lost the sparkle and inspiration needed to write, let alone maintain the wayward way of life required to generate content for Wayward Princess.  But despite the lack of sparkle and less-wayward-wise living, a lot happens in three years.  Here I attempt to sum it up in three paragraphs.

Crater Lake
Half Marathon
Recreationally I've become a rather legit runner and baker, the combination being a nicely matched set.  Burn the calories and then replenish them!  I found myself doing Hood to Coast (H2C) in 2010 and in the training process discovered a love of trail running and running for a long, long time.  Two hours on the trails is my idea of heaven and longer is okay too.  After H2C I just kept running and next thing I knew it was November and I was doing the Lithia Loop Trail Marathon. Along the way I've delved into the science of baking and can make all varieties of wicked (and not so wicked) treats.  My new challenge being how to bake without butter, buttermilk, sour cream and the like.  I've also been doing pottery in the winter months and the bowls, mugs, platters and such are another good combo with the baking/cooking obsessions.  I've gone a couple rounds of P90X - Do your best, forget the rest! - lost my yoga, found my yoga, done a ton of biking, been to Sweden, Montana & exotic Baltimore, frozen & eaten roughly 250 pounds of berries, been to a dozen beer festivals and maintained, through it all, a constant and deep affinity for frogs.

Annabella, my commuter
Christopher has built five more bicycles, each one pretty fantastically amazing.  He also built a forge, made a mini anvil, got a super nice big anvil and now makes, among other things, killer knives.  Killer as in awesome, not as in for killing.  He also got a job (he was unemployed in the summer of 2009!), then got a better job, then got promoted at said better job.  In addition to joining me on my travels, he has been to a Gear Festival in Cincinnati and traveled the enchanting upper mid-west for work on multiple occasions.  A former college track sprinter he is now joining me on the trails via the Portland Trail Series.  And he is kicking ass.

More has been going on with family and friend weddings (& one divorce), babies (none for us thank you) and more, but I've done used up my three paragraphs.  I'm really looking forward to the next three years and promise there will be more than three paragraphs.

My dog is very beautiful.  That's all.
