And Then There Were Plants!

15,000 pounds of rock, 10+ yards of dirt, a whole heck of a lot of turning of the earth and... We have plants!
Since the last update we've carted in a couple more yards of dirt, turned over every bit of soil not in the rock beds and planted all sorts of things! All the plants are very much babies and will grow quite a bit in the coming months. That stuff you see in the foreground is a ground cover that should all grow together and be a nice springy alternative to grass.

Much of the veggies were just planted a few days ago and so don't have much to show yet. That big blank section just behind the ground cover should be potatoes in the coming months with beets up and to the right, carrots & radishes up in that center bed and beans, peas and squash along the top beds. We'll see though. I grew up around a veggie garden, but don't have much experience with growing one myself. Or any experience really. And we also got a little bit of a late start AND don't have a whole lot of full sun. So we'll see what happens.

We also still need to put in the patio... But that will come a bit later. I think this summer all we'll get around to is scraping the mulch and laying down the foundation of gravel. Next summer slate will come in.

Our first little seeds starting to sprout already! The radishes were planted earlier this week and already have started to grow. A good sign I think!
